I knew very little of jailbreaking/unlocking etc at the time plugged it into her iTunes and told her to go ahead and update the software so it now has IOS4.1 on it and is no longer jailbroken. Some help would be greatly appreciated, my GF recently brought an iPhone 3G off ebay, which was jailbroken (originally locked to O2) so she could use her orange contract in it. PLEASE for any info I would greatly apprecieate or in here 3g with 4.1 Apparently jailbroken with a beta of redsnow 0.9.5 b5-5 with an icon of cydia but if I had to guess because its beta its not working properly, no phone icon, couldnt restore nor with tiny umbrella nor the normal way in itunes.
Tried twice so basically I am LITERALLY stuck of what to do. I tried restoring in itunes the normal way, but oh my, would take a couple of minutes and it would say 'the iphone couldnt be restored. So at this point I thought well its better to restore so I can have a 4.1 functionable iphone than a 4.1 jailbroken beta or whatever but not functionable. Did the same thing, took like 5 minutes and same error would show up, couldnt downgrade. So I tried with 4.0, same thing happened files found, all was looking good. So basically I couldnt downgrade with 4.0.1 EVEN THO it said files found.
I downloaded tiny umbrella to downgrade, I already had the 4.0 and 4.0.1 firmwares downloaded, I first try to do it with the 4.0.1 and umbrella said that the files were loaded succesfully or something like that, meaning yes, I could do it, I followed the instructions, looks like it was working but it was taking forever to restore when i was in the shift click part.
